Green Drop Rates per profession
I have been having a discussion with my guildmates about green drop rates depending on your profession. It seems to me (and of course this can change via patch, already has once) that monks and ele's get more green drops than other professions. Anyone else notice a similar or different pattern?
Case in point: Was doing a 5 man FA team with 2 monks, a warr, and 1 ele and me as a min master. For the run, ONE MONK got a Razorstone and Ivor's staff, other monk got a Rago Flame Wand. The rest of us were shut out. we ported to GF and back in for normal SF run, and the lucky monk above got 2 more green drops through half of Sorrows (and of course had to leave, ghey). We finished all but 2 bosses 4 man and were shut out completely.
In my opinion, the drops (on characters I play) seem to go like this:
Monk >(or =) Ele > Warr > Nec
Poor nec hardly ever gets a green drop.
SECOND QUESTION
Have you noticed that taking a quest inside SF affects green drops? Most people do not want to take Tharn's or Ennis's quest thinking they reduce green drops. I can say that Orozar's quest does not reduce drops IMO, but of course this is a different animal. I do not have an opinion either way on this one, anyone else?

I've noticed that some Accounts seem cursed.
Over 4 chars, I've noticed that I regularly get worse drops than the average drop in SF/UW/FoW.
Of course, that may just be my caffeine induced paranoia.

Something to consider, farming in the same area over time lowers your drop rate from what I've been hearing, so if you don't move around the zones there going to penalize you.
Also someone mentioned drops may be links to the damage you do to the elite (high damage > better chance for drop) but have not idea if this is accurate.

I don't think professions influence drop rates. I have been playing around in that area since it got activated (using my E/Mo) and I have never found a single green item. All my guildmates did though.
I am pretty sure it's just pure luck.

I've found 2 total, I've taken 2-3 framing runs only, and 5-6 failed Final Assault attempts (with killing green bosses along the way) - Both drops were on the real FA attempts.

I agree, everytime i farm, it's always them monk and ele who gets the green loot. it happened 4x already to me where ele and monk could get 2 greens in one run. and in my every run monk and ele's always get at least 1 green, the rest nada. i have been farming for quite sometime and all i got are just 2 greens and are not even for my profession. i was glad for the other one bcoz it was a rago's wand w/c costs 100k in the market at that time.

Myself, I play either a healer monk or fire elementalist down in the furnace, and I suppose I get a fair number of greens for the amount of runs I do. My brother, however, plays a minion master necro down in the furnace. He's gotten just as many, if not more greens than me while probably only having gone on half as many runs. So, yeah...

first off, I love you you completely ignore rangers and mesmers... thought that was funny, also, i'm pretty sure profession doesn't have anything to do with drop rates, dmg output or group contribution seems far more likely, and seeing how warriors, only take dmg on these farm runs, it's monks and eles who do most of the noticeable work, healing and killing... so, if that is the case, it would make sence for them to be getting mroe drops, but then again, I don't notice these abnormal drop rates so, whatever

I haven't seen any major trends in my runs, other than me not getting any greens after too many runs into SF consecutively. I could probably do a more detailed analysis of the data I have so far, but I'm too lazy right now.

If you re-read, I said "on the characters I play" ... if I do not play a mesmer or ranger (thanks again for 4 character slots ANet) I cannot give an account of drop rates for them, now can I?
About the henchies ... I have a guildmate that swears he gets more greens if he is in a group of henchies, dies during battle, and lets the hench finish off the killing. I have seen dead and AFK team members get green drops, rare drops, so I think group contribution and damage amount are not factored in at all. Of course these could have been the exceptions to the rule *shrug*

i use my mo/r for farming there, and i went with henchies last night and got 2 greens in the same run. I also have good luck with getting dyes... During missions it seems warriors get more stuff though.

Ive seens alot of monks have GREAT luck with all drops in my groups, monks do have an important jobs... But considering how many monks are jerks and quit, this should not be the case.
Also, alot of farmers are monks. Just because some of us dont farm and are not monks, we should not be cursed for that.

to orginal poster.... i seem to see that same trend with green drops, eles usaully get the most it seems, or its just strange. ((not educational))another theory i PERSONALLY have is that the more xp you have the better drops u get i have 700k xp i seem to get more drops that people in my group that have like 100k-400k i ask them sometimes. AGAIN THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION DONT FLAME ME>
thanks you

Thanks for the reply Grim Aragorn. Interesting theory on experience, had not thought of that. I farm with my monk, have about 1.7 mil XP, Nec is last character I created and has least XP ... that may be why it seems to me the monk gets more drops than others.
Thanks for the input. Perhaps we will get this figured out just in time for a patch to change it all up, or Chapter 2 makes greens the FOLW (Flavor Of Last Week).

Current stats for my recorded runs (albeit a bit low at 27 runs):
Green drops:
Total: 63 - 100.00%
Elementalists: 24 - 38.10%
Necromancers: 20 - 32.75%
Monks: 10 - 15.87%
Rangers: 2 - 3.17%
Mesmers: 0 - 0.00%
Warriors: 7 - 11.11%
Party Composition
Total party members: 202 - 100.00%
Elementalists: 70 - 34.65%
Necromancers: 42 - 20.79%
Monks: 42 - 20.79%
Rangers: 15 - 7.43%
Mesmers: 3 - 1.49%
Warriors: 32 - 15.84%
So what does it mean? First off, I'm usually the only Warrior, and since my farming buddies refuse to take anyone else, I end up doing way too many runs and nothing else. So my drops were nerfed a bit. I usually go with an Elementalist friend or two who probably farm too much also...hence the slightly lower percentages for drops for them.
Necros tend to come and go, plus most of the ones I team with go farm other places too. Same with the Monks...however, it should be noted that sometimes I opted for an E/Mo instead of a Mo/X.
Rangers and Mesmers didn't come along enough, even though I spam for non-tanks quite a bit. Their data can't be taken as conclusive, as the numbers are far too small for them. So you can pretty much chuck them out the window.
~~~
Moral of the story? Don't farm in one place too often; otherwise drops are equal.
I usually go in SF with my Ele doing quests and drops are pitiful, I've had more with my Ranger (Ele 1.2m XP, Ran 645k XP btw) doing the same quests.
In thew UW/FoW I normally use my ele and go with the same group and the one who consistantly gets the best drops (ie most ecto/shards) is the mesmer.
The last time I was farming for greens, I seemed to be the only one getting drops, both green and non-green.
One more thing: greens arent worth that much (only for a new player), but to those that got to War Camp they arent really worth anything, since green items drop from practically every boss in GF and SF. The week after the SF update, someone started a thread about the value of GREEN items, and it said that they are worth 4k (at the most).
